Zuni

The Zuni are Native American Pueblo peoples native to the Zuni River Valley in what is now New Mexico. Their rich history and culture includes a legend on the origin of what we call the chile de arbol, in which an old woman known for her ferocious tongue lashing tragically passes away and from her grave grows the plant that carries the same burn as the her scolding tongue. 

Our Zuni sauce pays homage to that legend by being a heat forward and complex sauce that incorporates spicy chiles de arbol, sunflower seeds, herbs, and spices. Apply liberally, but beware!
